I consider myself so very blessed to be able to review such wonderful products and then pass my findings on to all of you.
Today, I would like to introduce you to the wonderful world of Beecology!
Beecology has a saying, “Beecentric Body Care, For People Who Care.“
I think this should also say “Made By People Who Care.“
Beecology products are made of all natural ingredients like honey, beeswax, and natural oils. They contain no Sulfates or harsh chemicals (SLS, DEA,TEA, or Parabens) all of which are very damaging and drying to your skin and hair. These chemicals actually strip your hair of natural oils and color, leaving your hair dull, dry, damaged, and can even cause hair loss.
I have been hearing for a quite while about how bad sulfates are for your hair, but I was always reluctant to try something different from my normal hair routine, until I came across Beecology products.
Beecology shampoos and conditioners are made of all natural ingredients like honey, chamomile, and yarrow and are sulfate and paraben free. The first time I tried their shampoo and conditioner, I didn’t know what to expect, so I just went for it. I wet my hair like I normally would, poured some shampoo in my hand and placed it on my head. The first thing I noticed was the very natural scent, I don’t like strong perfume scents, so this was a plus, then I noticed that it wasnt as thick as the shampoos I had used before. I noticed it wasnt spreading all over my hair with big lathery bubbles, so I used more, until it covered my who head with product, still no huge lather or bubbles.Don’t get me wrong, there was some lather and some bubble, just not what I had been used to.
I was a bit disappointed at first. I thought to myself, “I dont think this is going to work”, but I wanted to follow through and give these products a chance, so I rinsed and then applied the conditioner, I had to use more than I normally would, my hair seemed to suck it up (I have very processed hair) and I was used to my normal conditioner making my hair feel super slippery. When I was done..I was a little bummered, even though my hair looked and felt like it did when I was a little gir (natural and healthy)….That is until I spoke to my friend D who is a hair dresser. She told me that sulfate free shampoo would give me a totally different feel than the shampoos I was used to. She explained that the sulfates are what also give other products their huge foamy bubbles that lead me to believe it’s really good stuff, and that I needed to rethink my shampooing. So I did, I read up on the damaging effects of sulfates and i realized that in my mind the more foam and more bubbles = better shampoo, wrong! It actually means that I used way too much of that harmful stuff, hence the huge head of foam.
Companies use sulfates because they are inexpensive and effective oil strippers.
So I gave it another try. I washed my hair, while reminding myself that less foam is better, then I conditioned as I normally would. When I was finished, I realized how wonderful my hair felt, it felt clean, but not stripped. It felt and smelled clean and natural, I was very happy. When my hair was dry, I took a good long look in the mirror. As I brushed my hair memories of what my hair felt like as a child came to me, this is what healthy hair is supposed to feel like, I loved it!
I was also very lucky to receive 2 of their body washes for review: Grapefruit & Lemongrass and Peppermint & Honey. Their body washes are all natural and sulfate free for a gentle all natural clean. Their body washes are made with “pure oils, simple cleansing and moisturizing ingredients.” And they smell amazing!
In trying these products, I have found the one product I cannot live without; Beecology’s Peppermint & Honey body wash!! It is nothing less than amazing! I love, love, love anything minty and tingley, I love to feel uber fresh and cool after as shower and this body wash fits the bill perfectly!! i have always said to my friends that if I could wear mint, smell and feel like mint I would, 24/7. This gentle, but powerful body wash is a dream come true for me! Did I mention that their body washes are also moisturizing? Well they are !! They leave you with a very clean, moisturized feeling, not a harsh, dry stripped feeling that most soaps leave you with.
Beecology products are a must try, for sure!
Beecology also makes, soaps, lip balms, hand and body creams, and great gift baskets (that come with real honey!)! And their products are not only all natural, they are very reasonably priced! You can check out all their product on Beecology’s site.
So, my findings on Beecology products?… Total thumbs up!
