Awww “Bud” is so cute! We have a yellow lab also, named “Bear”! He is now my “bebe” as my kids are getting so grown up and out with their friends, most of the time it’s just me and Bear hanging out at home. Thank for sharing!! ❤ @ciesla504

What a beautiful dog! I love dogs and grew up with them.

I wish I could have a large dog in my apt. but its too small and too confining 😦 I am now looking for a med sized dog, not too active, perferrably lazy LOL If you have any suggestions, I would appreciate it!

Bud is cute! That looks like a great leash for your hands. Our dog is big and even with a gentle leader, a handle would be nice for walks.

Ah geez – this kind of story/relationship always hits home for me. Bud looks like he was a big time smiler and I’m glad he had such a good life with you & Peter. Everyone deserves that.

Beautiful dog. I miss mine terribly and it’s been five years. It sounds like Bud had a great life. Dogs… They steal your shoes and dig holes in your yard, and yet they still love you unconditionally! What’s not to love?

I am so sorry I didnt know Bud had passed away…. may his journey on the Rainbow Bridge be a happy one!

Just this side of Heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge…

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food and water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.

The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing: they miss someone very special to them; who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. The bright eyes are intent; the eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to break away from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. YOU have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

I never understood how people could get so attached to their dogs – UNTIL I got my first dog a few years ago – I’m sorry for your loss – I was heartbroken when Sunshine died and was holding her until that very last minute so I understand how you feel about Bud not being alone at the end

😦 I’m sorry. My childhood dog died 2 years ago unexpectedly. It was one of the worst things that’s ever happened to me. I love all dogs so much. I didn’t feel fully healed until we adopted a rescue, her name is Rio and I love her more than anything!
